My First One Piece Regionals

Admit one - to Regionals

ticket

This was my first One Piece Regionals, and I traveled to Texas for it.

Here's how I got in- and what the experience was like.

How I got a Regionals Ticket

Getting a regionals ticket can be tough - they sell out in minutes. There's usually a time limit to complete payment once the ticket is in your cart, so sometimes you can snipe a spot if someone times out.

To give yourself the best shot:

  • Create an account or profile ahead of time (whatever the organizer requires)
  • Have your Bandai + membership number ready
  • Know the time tickets drop
  • Refresh and click fast

I was lucky and managed to grab one last year.

You will need to register your deck by the deadline set on the Bandai + app.

What I brought

The event took place at the Esports Stadium in Arlington.

There is a Sheraton hotel next to the venue - just a 5 min. walk!

I brought my deck, a play mat, sleeves, and toploaders.

I use Katana inner sleeves and Dragon shield sleeves to protect my deck.

For my playmat, I brought this monster playmat dual tube case as I am traveling as two, but they have single tube options as well.

I learned to play my deck the night before. I had just gotten into the TCG and was fairly new during this time.

The deck I brought with me was Red Zoro.

Inside the Event

The venue is a huge room filled with rows of tables.

You can check your Bandai + app for your seat number and use it to report your W/L .

This is basically an all - day event depending on your performance.

Plan ahead for food - lunch breaks aren't always guaranteed.

At this event, we were given a short lunch break, but that's not always the case.

Registration/ Check- in

We walked to the venue around 9-10 am to check in. and then you will provide your name or your name on the Bandai + app.

If you're trying to get in through waitlist , expect to line up early. I think people waited from 6 am.

Rounds & Judges

Each round is about 30-35 minutes.

I had no issues during my matches, and if anything came up, you can call a judge to get an official ruling.

Side Events

There are side events for people to sign up for throughout the day.

Prizing

There are different tiered prizing based on the amount of players and the place that you get. Everyone gets participation packs.

I received:

  • x2 participation packs
  • x2 Event packs
  • x1 Gear 5 don

Results

I ended up dropping out after the third or fourth loss.
I did get the first dub in our group though c:

Exploring Texas

We were only in town for that weekend and we didn't rent a car.

Luckily, a friend had a rental

There isn't much around the stadium or the hotel , so a car is a must.
